Could you tell me a little more about the Family Learning Center?

 

The Family Learning Center provides the opportunity for currently enrolled Head Start children to learn about computers using educational software for the appropriate age groups. We also provide FREE computer classes for parents and/or guardians of currently enrolled Head Start children with FREE childcare in the evenings.

 

 


 

 

What classes are offered for parents/guardians?

 

The Family Learning Center offers night classes such as Beginning Word, How to Use the Internet, Resume Writing and Basic Typing and much more!

 

Throughout the year the Family Learning Center also provides one-on-one training for parents/guardians. Parents/guardians are encouraged to make an appointment if they would like help on creating computer documents such as letters or memos, working with graphic programs, or just becoming more familiar with the computer.

 

 


 

 

 

How do I sign up for the computer classes?

 

To sign up for computer classes or one-on-one training, a "Parent Computer Class Interest Form" needs to be completed. These forms are available on the outside doors of the Family Learning Center or parents may get them from their child's teacher. Monthly, a form is sent home in each child's backpack. How much does it cost?

 

The night classes, one-on-one training and open computer lab times are provided by the Family Learning Center for FREE.
