What is the definition of a 1st time homebuyer?

 

Anyone who has not owned a house in three years is considered to be a first time homebuyer. A mobile home mortgage does not comply with the definition of real estate property.

 

 


 

 

What good is the certificate and how do I get one?

 

You will need to take the four-night workshop known as Home Stretch. The certificate is good for one year and may entitle you to a lower interest rate and/or some entry cost assistance if you qualify.

 

 


 

 

What’s the next step after the classes?

 

You can discuss possible loan programs and entry cost assistance dollars you may be eligible for with a counselor. If you have credit issues, bad debt, or budgeting problems you may also seek One to One Counseling or start the loan process by going to a lender.
