Head Start is a multi-faceted child and family development program for income-eligible households in Anoka and Washington Counties in Minnesota. The program is designed to help pregnant women and children, aged birth to five, and their families achieve their full potential.

The Head Start program literally gives children a head start on their journey of lifelong learning. The program also gives parents a head start in maintaining family continuity and self-sufficiency.

There is no cost to families who are accepted in the program.

Head Start's newsletter "Bear News", is published throughout the year. It's a great way to see what's happening in and out of the classrooms.

Curriculum

Parents are the most important people in their child's world; they are also their child's first and primary teachers. Supporting children's learning is viewed as a joint effort between teachers and parents.
