FAQ’s about donating furniture:

 

What furniture items do you accept?

 

We accept donations of sofas, loveseats, upholstered chairs, end tables, coffee tables, kitchen and dining room tables and chairs, set of dishes, entertainment centers, hutches, bedroom furniture including mattress & bedding and cribs if up to code. All furniture must be in good useable condition with no rips, stains, fraying, and in good structural condition.

 

 


 

 

 

What items do you not accept?

 

We do not accept the following: sofa sleepers, TV’s, microwaves, electric appliances, mismatched dishes and out-dated furniture (such as the old olive green, orange, yellow).

 

 


 

 

 

Do you take beds?

 

Yes, including mattresses that are in good condition, no stains or broken springs.

 

 


 

 

 

How do I donate or drop off furniture?

 

Call the ACCAP Furniture line at 763.783.4735.

 

 


 

 

 

Where does the furniture go?

 

The furniture is given to income qualified Anoka County residents who are U.S. citizens. This service is restricted to once in a lifetime.

 

 


 

 

 

In what area do you pickup furniture?

 

ACCAP picks up donations by appointment on all non-holiday Mondays in Anoka County.

 

 


 

 

 

 

FAQ’s about receiving furniture:

 

 

How do I receive Furniture?

 

You apply and must be an income qualified Anoka County resident. After your application has been approved you will be given a Tuesday half-hour appointment for pick up. You must transport the furniture you choose and provide rope and tie downs.

 

 


 

 

 

How do I apply?

 

You can apply at the ACCAP office by filling out an application. You will need proof of income (pay stubs), Anoka County residency (lease or utility bill) and be a U.S. citizen.

 

 


 

 

 

Where do I receive Furniture?

 

Furniture is received at the ACCAP Furniture Warehouse in Anoka. A map is included with the application.

 

 


 

 

 

Is the furniture new?

 

The furniture is not new. ACCAP accepts good used furniture as well as beds. ACCAP picks up donated furniture and stores it in our warehouse. ACCAP does not guarantee the condition of items that are taken. 

 

 


 

 

 

How often can I go to the Furniture Warehouse?

 

You may use the Warehouse once in a lifetime.

 

 


 

 

 

What if I don’t like the furniture you have?

 

If at your scheduled appointment you choose not to take furniture you cannot reschedule or return later.
